How to export or import ESET configuration
Article
If you have customized the settings on your ESET security product and want to export those settings from one computer to another, you can do so by creating an .xml file. Follow the steps below to do this:
To export Settings
1) Open the main program window by clicking the ESET icon next to the system clock or by clicking Start →All Programs → ESET → ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
2) Toggle the main program window to Display: Advanced mode by either clicking the text at the bottom left of the screen or by pressing CTRL + M.
3) Click Setup from the main menu on the left and then click Import and export settings... in the primary window on the right.
4) Select Export settings and then choose a file name and location for the .xml file that you are about to create. Click OK.
To import settings
1) In order to import your ESET security product's settings from one computer to another, repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 (above) on the second computer and then select Import settings.
2) Click the ... button to browse to the .xml file you wish to import (stored on a public drive, a USB flash drive, etc.) and then click OK to confirm. Your second computer should now be configured identically to the first.
